Is using Snort custom actions an available option that you can consider?

It may be a long run and require some code writing of the email sending logic using perl or whatever language you are 
comfortable with. Its not like Snort will send the emails directly but you can workaround this in some way.

well, i want so send snort alerts to e-mail and after some reserch i have
found that ossec has this cpability and it can send the snort alerts via
e-mail, but im not sure how can i do that. I know this isnt an specific
question of snort, but is related it.
