I had a similar issue here (2.9.0.4, OpenBSD).  Google suggested 
removing "autodetect" from the ssh preproc config, this worked for me 
even with "enable_protomismatch" enabled.

BTW, the most obvious fix would be to remove "enable_protomismatch", no?
