Re: New Sig Doc is one giant file?

In my original email about it:

"There is only one rule doc tar ball for registered and subscribed
users. You can download them from the rule download page on snort.org
at https://www.snort.org/snort-rules/ or you can use the command line
to download. The links for the command line download are:

Subscribed Users:
 http://www.snort.org/sub-rules/opensource.gz/<oinkcode>

Registered Users:
 http://www.snort.org/reg-rules/opensource.gz/<oinkcode>

Additionally, since there is no difference in the two tar balls,
registered users can also use the subscriber link above and still get
the docs. The two links are provided above for those folks who like to
see consistency in their scripts :D"

Man, I'm an idiot sometimes. Was unzipping it and it was just a
"opensource" file with no extension. So, I didn't even think about
untar.

Anyway, is there going to be a direct link to where we can download
this file from through CLI? We heavily use this file since we are an
integrator and our customers look at it constantly.

Thanks,
Andy

Try un-tarring the file. You will get all the rule documents in one
directory named "signatures".

Did I miss something in your announcement where you said that the docs
for the sigs will be one giant file now? I just downloaded the
opensource.gz file and it’s one file. What am I missing?

Thanks,
Andy
