I know it can work....can you give any more specific errors? Anything in the
event log? During installation? Are any log files being created when the
service starts? Does it start?

It seems that Snort will not alert when running on Windows XP with
Service Pack 2 installed. It works fine without SP2, but alerting
appears to be broken otherwise. Comments anyone?
