modularising snort

hi,

I am currently working in a project which involves snort.Can anybody specify how to modudularise it.



Sniffing ->packet capture

Analysis -> packet decode, preprosessor

Decision -> Detection engine

Reporting ->Output plugins



This is the way i need to modularise it. If anybody have any idea please reply.It is very urgent.
