Apache web server allows clients to send blank line(CRLF)s *BEFORE* sending a HTTP request. So one can send a HTTP request like this: ----------------------------------------------- <CRLF> GET /wwwboard/passwd.txt HTTP/1.0 User-Agent: httpc Host: some.apache.host <CRLF> ------------------------------------------------ In this case, Snort should trigger SID807, But it can not detect this attack. -- Kanatoko<anvil () jumperz net> ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
