snort on linux and acid on windows

Hi everyone,

My management asked me to implement snort in our
network. i am planning to install snort on linux as
sensors and want to use ACID,IDS policy manager on 
windows machine as console. We have only windows
machines. But for performance i want to use linux for
snort.

I want to confirm whether this plan works or not? Can
mysql client part on linux talk to mysql server on
windows or Any changes have to be done ? do any one 
use two different platforms for sensors and console?
