Version 2.1.0 -u switch

I just installed snort 2.1.0, updated and tuned everything.  Has anyone else
had problems switching snort to run as a different user when using -D
(Daemon mode)?  I have a script that I run that activates all my sensors,
and when I run it, snort stays running as root?

I am currently running Red Hat 7.3, Kernel 2.4.20.
