Snort not talking to the sql server.

Greetings,I currently have mysql 3.23 and snort 2.0.2. I configured snort with a ./configure --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql and made sure my entry in snort.conf had database logging enabled and does so on a log and not an alert. I use acid to check my snort and it shows up with no sensors. I have recompiled several times making sure that snort had mysql in its configuration. However im still not getting any sensors. I figured it might be traffic not hitting the interface but that was proven wrong when I checked with a simple snort execution. Is there any way to double check snort is running and reporting to mysql? I have even tried looking at the database and still get a count 0 and not a count 1. If any of you have ran across this issue before please inform me on how to correct this. Thanks in advance.
