Hmmm....let me think on this for a little bit.  It could be because you are
listening to a wireless adapter.  Are you connected to a WLAN when you are
launching snort?

Try running it with -dve to see if it shows anything.  Have you tried
running windump as well?

Anyone else have any other ideas?
