HELP ME

I am New to IDS concept and we re in process of setting up IDS in our network .

Following will be my setup

Snort for windows will be implemented.

I have ISP which is connected to firewall which is connected to Nortel LAN switch.

Please help with following

1----  Where to place my Snort IDS .
2---   I want Network and Host based IDS(SMTP Server)
