id would highly recommend "intrusion detection with snort: advanced ids
techniques using snort, apache, mysql, php, and acid" by rafeeq ur rehman
... while the title says it all it is a very good book the first one ive
picked up on the topic and in the 1st half already picked up a dozen items i
did not know about the app.

i just picked up the jay beale syngress book "snort 2.0" as well.
