Also not to be a pain but here is another example of "Linux 8" which as
we all know doesn't exist.  I wonder how many people try to run snort
and other network tools without understand how Linux works.  I know I
learned how the OS works and functions, enough to understand I don't
know it all, before I started with these programs.

Don't waste your time with 1.8.x, as it's offically 'not supported'.
Please update to version 2.0.

Also, just for grins, try moving the password= section of the plugin
config to next to the username= section.
