It really should not be hard for you to find the source code for snort.. The standard tarball distribution _IS_ source code form. Of course, if you're downloading a "precompiled binary" version, you won't have source in there..

Go to:
http://www.snort.org/dl/

and download <http://www.snort.org/dl/snort-1.9.1.tar.gz>snort-1.9.1.tar.gz


The source code is in the src subdirectory of the tarball.

the preprocessors and plugins are in various subdirectories under src.

Various "fixes" to the code for win32 are in the Win32 subdirectory under src.

Be aware that this code is GPL licensed, and as such there significant restrictions on modifying the code unless you intend to distribute the modified source code with your customized snort. Read the LICENSE file in the tarball for full license details.
