Tagging doesn't set Sig name?

From: Jason Haar <Jason.Haar () trimble co nz>

Hi there.

I've got a rule to capture the next 10 packets after a suspect SYN:

alert tcp $DMZ any  -> !$VALID_REMOTE_NETWORKS any msg:"DMZ host
communicating to an unsupported service";flags:S;tag: session,
10,packets;classtype:successful-admin;)

I end up with a single alert, and 10 logged packets in my SQL database -
perfect!

However (;-), the 10 logged packets are of "(34)Unknown Sig Name" instead of
"DMZ hostcommunicating to an unsupported service" type.

Why anybody? I saw Roman mention the same problem in Oct 2001 - so I assume
I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks!
