My problem is: snort-1.9.0 and Postgresql 7.2.3 The snort is logging to sql and works fine. But when I restart the postgresql postmaster daemon, while the snort is running, snort lost the connection with the sql server. the command: "killall -HUP snort" helps, but it is a very poor solution...:-( (not too elegant...:-) kuksi
Doesn't sound like to major of a problem. I have similar setup though snort does not hang when I restart postgresql. One suggestion, use a monitoring package (I use Nagios) to keep track of your snort processes. Then, write a simple shell script to restart snort if it dies. Or, you could try adding a line like this: service snortd restart (or equivalent for your OS) To your postgresql init script. Hope that helps. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Demetri Mouratis dmourati () linfactory com ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=snort-users
