snort-1.9.0 don't connect when restart the SQL server

My problem is:

snort-1.9.0 and Postgresql 7.2.3

The snort is logging to sql and works fine.
But when I restart the postgresql postmaster daemon, while the snort 
is running, snort lost the connection with the sql server.

the command:
"killall -HUP snort" helps, but it is a very poor solution...:-(
(not too elegant...:-)
