good NIC?

dear list,

sorry if this has been asked before. i'm new to the list, but checked the
archives and haven't found an answer.

does it matter what NIC you use for snort? are there better/bad ones? are
there some that do hardware packet filtering already, ie. drop to small
packets etc (which would be bad)? i guess most can used perfectly, but are
there certain NICs that have to be avoided?
