Off the top of my head, (and realize that it's early in the morning for me to be awake) you could do a 'select count(*) from event' or something. Alternately, you could monitor the size of the tables or directory that the database is stored in if your tables are MyISAM, that is. hi I am trying to creat a script which would monitor the size of a snort mysql db, if the database is getting to big (say due to an alert storm) it would start deleteing alerts. I was wondering does anyone know the best way to monitor the size of the database Mark ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=snort-users
