Snortsam Cisco ACL configuration steps

I was wondering if anyone had step by step build and 
integration procedures documented for snortsam to save 
me the trouble of doing it the hard way? I'm a little
confused about which source files I need and when I
need them. :)

Also, I'd like to verify my understanding so far about
the ACL handling:

1) I specify a file that has the configuration statements
   for one access list in it. I could probably use my
   tftp file. I can only change one access list.
2) Snortsam will modify the file I specify and upload
   it.

I just started going through the source code to find the
answers but if anyone has some quick pointers to get me
going quickly, I'd appreciate it.
