Snort Remote Sensor

Hello,

I am getting this error when I redirect snort 1.9  running on window 2k to a
mysql database running on RedHat 8.0.  

database: mysql_error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
Fatal Error, Quitting..
 
I also get a similar message if I run mysql on the windows 2k box.

It looks like a mysql configuration error but I can not find it.  Locally on
the Redhat pc it works fine.
