General system question, all on one box, tuning

Running FreeBSD 4.6 on a dual-proc system with 512m ram, array controller
(hardware) that provides write-back.

If running multiple instances of Snort + mysqld + apache/acid on this one
box, should any tuning of processes & priorities be necessary?
