RE: Error 2002

Running Redhat ?  I ran into this problem many times and finally resolved it
by installing ALL of the MySQL RPM's along with the ALL of the PHP RPM's
(including the MySQL PHP) and to the best of my knowledge by doing so, it
finally did work.

When I try to logon to mysql server using

"mysql -u root"

I get this error

"error 2002: can't connect to local MySQL server through sockets"

anyone see this before ?
