HI, all

Gleen,Do u mean i remove the following lines?
#!/bin/sh

I can't imagine what *nix-based OS you're running that *doesn't* have
/bin/sh installed.

Try this:

[toot@sparky /]# which sh
/bin/sh

Or this:

[toot@sparky /]# sh --help
GNU bash, version 2.04.21(1)-release-(i386-redhat-linux-gnu)
Usage: sh [GNU long option] [option] ...
sh [GNU long option] [option] script-file ...
GNU long options:
        --debug
        --dump-po-strings
        --dump-strings
        --help
        --login
        --noediting
        --noprofile
        --norc
        --posix
        --rcfile
        --rpm-requires
        --restricted
        --verbose
        --version
        --wordexp
Shell options:
-irsD or -c command (invocation only)
        -abefhkmnptuvxBCHP or -o option
Type `sh -c "help set"' for more information about shell options.
Type `sh -c help' for more information about shell builtin commands.
Use the `bashbug' command to report bugs.

You get *no* response from either...?

You can't just remove

#!/bin/sh

that's fundamental to doing almost anything..

How does anything in /etc/rc.d/inet.d work?

How do you boot the machine?
