help installing

The install docs on Snort's site do not come up.

I am trying to install snort on a Redhat 7.2 box. I know NOTHING about Linux
really, but am trying to learn.

I tried unzipping the files and doing a 'make' but it does not seem to work.
Do you have step instructions on how to get this set up for use please? TIA
