With Debian, these are a
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
The snort packages have to be fixed though. (my fault)

OTOH, setups like Demarc are very easy. E.g. instead of reading 12
pages on how to setup all the software you can install the Debian
packages, which EVEN have all the security hints already preimplemented.
