snort dies

Hi.
I am new to Snort NID program, and need some help, please.

1. I notice that snort dies after one or two days. I have checked in all my
logs but see no errors or warning messages.

Sometimes it causes a very big core file to be dumped in root.

I have ddclient running. My global IP stays the same foe about three weeks.

2. Also, is it possible to receive the monitoring results of snort on my
Window's machine. I have samba running?
