Mike,

doesn't appear to have any effect on a normal, single speed hub. My
favorite hub for this is a cheap 4 port NetGear hub. Have never
experienced problems (Cable, T-1 and LAN environments).

As a side note, I know I promised a video of the cable creation. I
actually had it done last month, but it got deleted by accident
(don't ask :) Then got pretty busy, but I'm back in town now. Within
the next two weeks I'll have another video done and posted on the
web. I'll send an email to the list when it's done.

Regards,
Frank

I'm about to work up a one-way cable (for use in a hub), but
I'm a bit
concerned about the effect it will have on the network.

Since the traffic is broadcast back out into the hub, does
that create
performance issues on that collision domain? This will be at
a rather
critical point on a network and I can't afford to introduce
ethernet oddities.
