packet loss statistics under Linux

Today the good folks working on tcpdump/libpcap checked 
into cvs a fix for libpcap that should fix(at least under 2.4) 
the packet loss statistics unavailable issue with snort 
under Linux that people complain about. I haven't tested 
this myself yet, but I thought some people here would be 
interested in knowing about and checking this out....
