smb alerts not working

I'm hoping someone can help me here... I am trying to get snort working
with smb alerts, but each time an alert happends, snort will seg fault. it
works fine without the smb alert option.

i am running with the command line:

snort -u snort -g snort -i eth0 -M /etc/snort/smb-hosts -c /etc/snort/snort.conf


the config files and the smb-hosts file are read/write by user snort.
Snort and smbclient are in the same dir. i tested smbclient and it works
just fine...


any suggestions?
