For me, snort will dump core in 10 to 15 minutes each time. I'm running
1.8p1 on Linux (RedHat 7.1). The reason so far has always been a segfault
in mSearch. Core file available too if anyone can help :)

Hi,

Ditto over here except Snort 1.8p1 on FreeBSD over two separate sensors on
two separate occasions after approximately 24-48 hours. Core file
available. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I am using snort 1.8 over netBSD 1.5. The snorts starts normally as a
deamon, works perfectly for some hours when subtly it stops and generate a
snort.core file. Anyone has an idea of what may be happening ?
Thanks a lot !
