What machine is that... Anyway?

Hello all, Sorry if this is a dumb question... I'm new to snort...Can I using snort detect unauthorized machines on my network...Like Linux machines. Is there a rule that I can use to "scan the network" to identify where a packet came from, i.e. Winnt, Solaris or Linux?
Or is there a non-intrusive tool that I can use.... Thank you, JC _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=snort-users
