I have updated the guardian package.
New enhancement are

real time email alerts
if logging to syslog can detect more than just portscans only works on new
version of snort
can specify which target you want rule to go to.
Automatic detection of network settings just specify interface.

Fixes.
Have to specify either iptables or chains in config file as have both in the
script was causing it to log way to much.
Added some documentation to the perl script so you know what is going on.
Makes it easier to customize.
Removed the cron job for email of the alerts.
