Firewall

Greetings,

I've in the process of putting a snort box (running rh7.1 snort 1.8.1)
behind a local firewall. The box will receive a non-routable IP number and
the router that it is behind has a routable. Will I still be able to sniff
traffic infront of that
router? I'm sure it's something simple as setting up the Home_net varible or
something else. Any help would be much appreciated.
