What I have done is used IPChains to firewall my snort box for protection.
It still records all the rules because snorts LIBPCAP holds precidence over
IPCHAINS.  If anyone wants to see a copy of my ruleset, please e-mail me and
I'll be more than happy to oblige.  Be sure to put IPCHAINS in the header so
i  can weed out spam.  Thanks
