Hi, two suggestions : if snort isn't running as root,
check that user snort can access it. Use absolute
paths in snort.conf.

I am running snort on my linux box.  I have dsl the uses pppoe.  My IP
doesn't change that often but in the config file, I use $ppp0_AADRESS as my
HOME_NET.  It works fine for awhile but then dies.  When I restart it it
says
" ERROR: Unable to open rules file: exploit.rules".  What can I do to stop
this?
