Compilation errors with mySQL

The attached is the error message returned by snort when I try to 'make'

Below are the platform details:
- Fresh Install of RedHat 7.1
- mySQL version = 'Ver 11.15 Distrib 3.23.39, for pc-linux-gnu (i686)'
- mySQL include directory = /usr/local/mysql/include
- snort verion 1.7 configured  with --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql
  (this is succuessful as far as I can see)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
