FYI, the wire service story is wrong; the court upheld the
anonymity of two posters and allowed the identification of
two others (who did not appear through counsel to object
and who had a different status than the other two). This was
correctly stated in the item in yesterday's EPIC Alert which
was posted to the Politech list.

The result demonstrates that different anonymous posters
will be found to have different rights depending upon the
particular facts in a case.

The two are not in conflict. It is very important to get legal
acceptance of a right to anonymity or we risk a situation where using
technical means to protect your anonymity is a crime.
