Re: backtrack tutorial ?

I currently hold the following Certifications - CISSP, C|EH, MCSE, OSCP,
OSWP, (CCNA, CCDA - retired)

I say this not to boast, but rather to qualify myself for the following
statement(s):

While I hold all of my accoumplishments is very high esteem, I am most
proud of the OSCP and OSWP Certifications. I took these courses about 2
years following my C|EH certification. The study for these two (2)
certifications is largely self Study, but they were the most intense
exhilarating classes I have ever had the opportunity to participate in.
Both of these courses come with Videos, and Student manuals which will
last for as long as I can hold onto them without loosing them. Each
course was filled with eye opening facts well beyond that of the C|EH
study.
The instructors are available for one-on-one consultation, but do not be
misled. An instructor will NOT provide any specific answers, but rather
they lead the student to the answer with appropriate questions. Their
goal is not to provide rote instruction, but to train the student's mind
to think beyond the norm.
The exam for OSCP is a blind pen-test!! you are given minimal
information about the targets, and given 24 hrs to score enough points
to past. The OSWP exam is much the same. The C|EH exam was a 4 hour
computer based exam with 250 questions, and a required 70% to pass.
The difference - Offensive-Security's course work and exams actually
provide solid foundations and a method of proving the student has
acquired the necessary skill set to continue in the IT Security
Profession.

Just my opinion based on my reality. Hope this helps.

I agree, excellent course for a very reasonable price.. very much worth it.

They are releasing a Metasploit course soon, course materials will be
free except for the videos which will be available for a small fee
with all proceeds benefiting Hackers or Charity.

You can also Google for the 'Best of Penetration Testing Tools'
webcast series from the folks at PaulDotCom, it covers many of the
main tools included in Backtrack as well.

I paid for the course that Offensive Security offers - it was worth
every penny.

That course goes through a pen-test using BackTrack - step by step.
It may not cover every single tool in the arsenal, but it will get you
far enough IMHO.

Simple enough:

Contains a list of every tool on BT3 and a little bit of info on why
it's there and it's purpose.

Hello,

Could any one suggest any tutorial about the tools available in backtrack ? I have done some google search and
found tutorial on xprobe, p0f etc.. but not a good one which can provide a nice focus on the backtrack
applications.

Thanks
