Hello list,

It's been 11 months since I shared with you the last status on the penetration testing directory project
(www.penetrationtests.com) and therefore about a year of additional work maintaining its ever growing database has
taken place.

I wanted to thank everyone who's been helping out with the project; either by exchanging e-mails, providing feedback,
submitting links through the site or e-mailing me the data, linking back, and so on.

For those of you who are not familiar with the directory - the main idea is to have a well structured links directory
oriented towards the penetration testing world/business and neighbor areas.

As a result of the work that's been invested during the life time of the project, we currently have 327 active links
filed under the following main categories/distinctions - Note that under each category there are several subcategories
for properly categorizing each link:

Blogs related to security (Company blogs, Personal blogs, Group blogs)
[http://www.penetrationtests.com/Blogs/ - 22 active blogs]

Business links (Scoping, SoWs, Invoicing, Deliverables)
[http://www.penetrationtests.com/Business/ - 8 active links]

Security Companies (1-99 employees, 100-500, 501-more, unknown size)
[http://www.penetrationtests.com/Companies/ - 29 active companies]

Security Documents/papers (Database servers, webapp testing, secure programming)
[http://www.penetrationtests.com/Documents/ - 70 active documents]

Penetration testing Frameworks (for a price, free)
[http://www.penetrationtests.com/Frameworks/ - 4 active frameworks]

Mailing lists (Penetration testing)
[http://www.penetrationtests.com/Mailing-Lists/ - 1 active list]

Methodology (Links related to methodology definitions)
[http://www.penetrationtests.com/Methodology/ - 8 active links]

Security conferences
[http://www.penetrationtests.com/Security-conferences/ - 7 active conferences]

Security standards (PCI, SOx Act)
[http://www.penetrationtests.com/Security-standards/ - 4 active links]

Tools & Software (hundreds organized in sub categories)
[http://www.penetrationtests.com/Tools-Software/ - 171 active tools]

Websites (Project sites, Proxys)
[http://www.penetrationtests.com/Websites/ - 3 active links]

Whether you work for, or run a, company that provides information security-related services, or you are an independent
consultant with your own blog, or you develop security-oriented software, or you just want to help, I invite you to
submit your links to the directory and that way contribute to the process of creating a helpful resource.

Every single submission is manually reviewed and inspected by me before it gets finally appended to the directory,
meaning that you shouldn't panic if you don't see your link showing up instantly after clicking on the Submit button.

Among the changes that the directory has suffered these past few months, I've reworked the look&feel of the site. I
hope you find it to your liking.

You may submit a link to the directory by clicking on "Suggest a Link" or heading your browser to the following Url:
http://www.penetrationtests.com/submit.php

The nature of the directory script currently in use requires a reciprocal link but I've disabled it for eternity, so
again don't freak out if you click on "Suggest a Link" and find "Reciprocal Link URL" as another input box. However,
any back-linking to promote the directory is useful and greatly appreciated.

Any ideas, feedback/suggestions are extremely welcome.

Feel free to drop me an e-mail, I will reply as soon as possible.

Best regards and happy new 2009 (although somewhat late),
-AV
