Thats partially the idea. Our motive is to educate people who are looking for security providers and security solutions. If they are educated then they can make the decision thats right for them and hopefully avoid the frauds (providers and technology vendors). If we end up getting customers as a result of them reading the blog, then thats great, but I'm pretty sure that other "real" providers will benefit too.

Just to be clear here - I am NOT complaining. I agree, this blog has valid, well presented content. I think it's valid to a "securitypractitioner" to attempt to market themselves and I think "free content"is a way that potential clients can "try before they buy". -----Original Message----- From: Erin Carroll [mailto:amoeba () amoebazone com] Sent: Wednesday, December 24, 2008 1:38 PM To: Shenk, Jerry A; 'pen-test list' Subject: RE: Insecure Security TechnologiesIf Adriel's blog was ad-laden or provided no useful information I'd askto have the content copied to the list directly and not external link. I *do* check links and things before submissions get passed for list distribution ya know. We've talked recently about effectively marketing yourself as being a real pen-tester as opposed to the fakes out there. An active blog, perhaps even with a few comments that witness to its validity might even have some tangible benefit. -----Original Message----- From: listbounce () securityfocus com [mailto:listbounce () securityfocus com] On Behalf Of M.B.Jr. Sent: Wednesday, December 24, 2008 9:54 AM To: Adriel T. As a matter of fact, the less we spend time filtering, analyzing, allowing and loading web content (which forces us to use some sort of those malware vectors called web browsers),the quicker your ideas get to our eyes and brains and the safer we getas well. Moreover, my suggestion benefits you, because it creates a redundant (backup) source for your blog entries. Merry Christmas, On Wed, Dec 24, 2008 at 10:29 AM, Adriel T.
