RE: Insecure Security Technologies

Just to be clear here - I am NOT complaining. I agree, this blog has
valid, well presented content. I think it's valid to a "security
practitioner" to attempt to market themselves and I think "free content"
is a way that potential clients can "try before they buy".

If Adriel's blog was ad-laden or provided no useful information I'd ask
to
have the content copied to the list directly and not external link. I
*do*
check links and things before submissions get passed for list
distribution
ya know. All this fame and glory isn't free :)

As always, if you have questions or concerns about postings to the list
or
wish to provide input if you'd like things done differently, please
don't
hesitate to contact me.

Blog hits are a benefit too him also...perhaps an in tangible benefit
but a benefit nonetheless. We've talked recently about effectively
marketing yourself as being a real pen-tester as opposed to the fakes
out there. An active blog, perhaps even with a few comments that
witness to its validity might even have some tangible benefit.

Dear Adriel,
we're InfoSec professionals/researchers/students.

As a matter of fact,
the less we spend time filtering, analyzing, allowing and loading web
content
(which forces us to use some sort of those malware vectors called web
browsers),
the quicker your ideas get to our eyes and brains and the safer we get
as well.

Moreover,
my suggestion benefits you, because it creates a redundant (backup)
source for your blog entries.

Merry Christmas,

Sure I could but I thought that was a bit out of line. I didn't want
to
bother people who didn't want to read the blog. When someone posts
a
link
people can read it at discretion, or not read it at all. When
someone
dumps
an article its more intrusive. Is it really that hard for you to
click on a
link or is there something else that I am missing here?

Hi Again,
I've published yet another blog entry about something that I

comments about similar encounters that some of you may have had.
As

your comments are very much appreciated!
