with a passphrase/keyword against a file/string

  
The mentioned values in your DB will most likely be Hashes (You might
ask Wikipedia for the difference between a Hash-Value and a crypted string).

Give Jonelo's java-tool "Jacksum"
)http://www.jonelo.de/java/jacksum/index.html) a try. You might also try
http://serversniff.net/hash.php - this online-hashgenerator for files
and strings is mostly relying on jacksum to generate its hash values.
