Re: Vulnerability scanning across Firewall

Hello there,
From my point of view it's a critical job that must be
done regulary (just like scanning from outside the
network - aka Internet). It allows you to map the
firewall rules from the inside to the DMZ. And you
know, attackers may be insiders too... :) I mean here
they may own a system inside your LAN (even throw
physical presence in front of a terminal) and lunch an
attack from there to your servers. If the firewall is
not capable of stopping this they may place a backdoor
on the servers and then use them remotely from
anywhere.

Have secure fun,
Dan

Hi,

I wanted to know if there is any concern scanning
for vulnerabilities across firewalls.

We are scanning our critical servers segment from
the user LAN segment. The two segments are seperated
by a stateful firewall.

Thank you
