Hello there,
From my point of view it's a critical job that must be
done regulary (just like scanning from outside the network - aka Internet). It allows you to map the firewall rules from the inside to the DMZ. And you know, attackers may be insiders too... :) I mean here they may own a system inside your LAN (even throw physical presence in front of a terminal) and lunch an attack from there to your servers. If the firewall is not capable of stopping this they may place a backdoor on the servers and then use them remotely from anywhere. Have secure fun, Dan --- tarunthenut () gmail com wrote:
Hi, I wanted to know if there is any concern scanning for vulnerabilities across firewalls. We are scanning our critical servers segment from the user LAN segment. The two segments are seperated by a stateful firewall. Thank you
