I don't think the system command in mysql came into effect until mysql4.x - use 'system <command>'. Throw away the gui, and use a cli. :) it makes it a bit easier. -Daniel -----Original Message----- From: tester () secfocus com [mailto:tester () secfocus com] Sent: Wednesday, April 05, 2006 12:12 AM To: pen-test () securityfocus com Subject: Remote Console on MySQL Im doing a pentest and found 3306 open with no password. I logged in a root using Navcat MYSQL GUI.. I can select one of the test databases and get a remote console, mysql> root@myipaddress does not have privilages to the main mysql database.. My question: Can you run commands on mysql to interact with the OS like XP..cmdshell in MSSQL? -Frank ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------ This List Sponsored by: Cenzic Concerned about Web Application Security?
