I agree with James, "This course will NOT make you a "hacker." Being a hacker has a lot to do with personal interest, inclination, desire, and hard work." I have been an instructor for Ernst & Young's Extreme Hacking, Foundstone's Ultimate Hacking, Foundstone's Ultimate Hacking Expert and Black Hat Briefings during the past 6 years and my advice is you should learn the concepts, skills and tools before you take the classes. There are many books and nice people out there that will help you along the way. Then take the "hands on" classes to reinforce and interact with others that are learning right along side of you. Be sure to attend technical conferences like Black Hat Briefings and learn from guys like David Litchfield, Chip Andrews, Tim Mullen, Eric Schultze, Dave Aitel, SensePost, Mark Burnett, Mike Howard, Saumil Shah and the number one woman in security Laura Robinson. All these people are happy to talk shop over a beer (or five). Good luck out there! As an introductory course that will give you a good idea of the breadth of things you need to learn to do professional testing, it is a good course. As training for the CEH, it is a great course. These are especially true if you have some knowledge, but want to know what areas to concentrate on. This course will NOT make you a "hacker." Being a hacker has a lot to do with personal interest, inclination, desire, and hard work. But it will help you learn to be a "professional hacker", in the sense that you will learn things about how to be thorough, and how to do it as a business. --James

Has anyone had experience with this training program? If so, I would be very interested in hearing your comments on the program. Thanks in Advance! -- Andrew H.
