If you are running unix on your laptop you can try arping. Read about it here. http://www.freshmeat.net/projects/arping/ Homepage of Author http://synscan.nss.nu/programs.php ftp://ftp.nss.nu/pub/synscan/arping-0.96.tar.gz -Tony At Wed, 30 May 2001 11:22:56 +0800, Alex Balayan <alex.balayan () Nettasking com> wrote:
Hi all, Say you are conducting a internal pen-test and you are only given a network port to plug your laptop into. Say you have obtained a list of MAC addresses that are on that ethernet segment. Is there a tool on *nix that can be used to ping a MAC address (00:20:A4:F7:89:15) to see if you get a reply back from that device? Thanks in advance.
