SecurityCenter can't import nmap scans at all. (I don't remember if previous windows fat-clients could either, I know the 4.x branch won't.) If all you want are hosts / ports, SC can do that just as well as nmap. If you're looking for all the additional service fingerprinting, OS detection, advanced packet options, etc, then YMMV - some things are analogous and others are not. - Chris Merkel On Tue, Aug 24, 2010 at 11:57 PM, Vincent Lape <vlape () me com> wrote:
Here's another question. Just found out we purchased Nessus security center. I know it can perform reporting, anyone know if I can import nmap results to create a report without having to kick off a scan in Nessus? And the only scripting language I've found with a usable module for parsing that is Ruby, nmap-parse gem, and it's a pig if you have (say) 10,000 IPs in your report. I'm told nmap-parse's biggest problem is rexml, as it creates a new instance of the whole scan output for each check you want to do against it. Not that I've ever had to scan a /16 or anything. I've not tried Dradis myself. Mike On 2010/08/24 1:41 AM, Andrew Johnson wrote:What do you want it to look like? What are your requirements? The XML output is pretty easy on the eyes, and you could adjust thatquite abit simply by editing the style sheet. -A On Mon, Aug 23, 2010 at 5:31 PM, Vincent Lape <vlape () me com> wrote:All, Does anyone know of a software package that will take the output of aNMAPscan and create a report? _______________________________________________ Pauldotcom mailing list Pauldotcom () mail pauldotcom com http://mail.pauldotcom.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pauldotcom Main Web Site: http://pauldotcom.com_______________________________________________ Pauldotcom mailing list Pauldotcom () mail pauldotcom com http://mail.pauldotcom.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pauldotcom Main Web Site: http://pauldotcom.com_______________________________________________ Pauldotcom mailing list Pauldotcom () mail pauldotcom com http://mail.pauldotcom.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pauldotcom Main Web Site: http://pauldotcom.com_______________________________________________ Pauldotcom mailing list Pauldotcom () mail pauldotcom com http://mail.pauldotcom.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pauldotcom Main Web Site: http://pauldotcom.com
