Programmable HID in the real world?

Hi all,
    I have to write a paper for my masters class on malicious USB devices.
One of the categories I talk about is programmable HIDs like my PHUKD. The
teacher would like me to come up with real world cases of their use, but I
really don't know of any. Anyone care to share if they have used one on a
pentest?
