When I'm on travel the trusty ssh port on my home server is a quick
easy solution. Using putty in windows you can use it as a proxy. You
can sftp to your local machines or what ever you want. An Linux there
is ssh -D to set up as a proxy. Depending on what you want to
accomplish there are a verity of free tools out there. What resources
do you have avialable at home? Can you set up a virtual computer
running Linux? Do you have an extra box you can set up as a server?

I think this topic may have been brought up before but I don't recall
this specific service. Has anyone used itshidden.com as a secure VPN
solution? As always I'm wary about who is "securing" my traffic if
it's a third party. I'm essentially looking for a solution I can setup
and use within ddwrt so when I'm on the road for work I can connect to
a hotel network, tunnel traffic, and repeat to my room with my own
WPA2 ssid. Free and anonymous are my preferences but I'm not sure how
realistic that is.
